"We just read in the book of Acts 20:21
repentance towards
God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
repentance towardsGod and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
We have three words. Lord, Jesus, and Christ.
Lord means someone who has authority over you.
Many of us want Christ to be a savior but not a lord.
As a lord, He tells us how to live.
We want Him as a savior, not as a lord.
And so we say, "I have given my life to you, Jesus. Don't tell me how to......I'll decide that."
But Jesus must be Lord.
And so faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus. Q: What does that mean?
A: Savior.
In Matthew 1:21, the angel told Joseph, "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call His name Jesus, for He shall save His people."
Jesus means savior, one who saves, one who has salvation.
Lord means someone who rules and commands and has authority.
Now Christ means anointed - chosen which mean there's only one person who can save that person is Jesus.
His name is not Jesus Christ.
His name is Jesus.
Christ is His work."
